Okami Codexery — Data & Quality

We publish our audit record because accuracy claims should be checkable. Every entry on this site runs through an automated fact-audit pipeline (accuracy audit → source-grounded repair → visual QA); this page is generated from that pipeline's own report, not written by hand.

This is a fiction/fan codex: entries describe an in-universe canon. Our audits check canon and internal consistency — external fact-checking does not apply the way it does on real-subject codexes.

Recent findings (audit lane, verbatim)

Orochi — The STATS section lists 'Location=Summit of the Moon Cave (or the Ark of Yamato)', which are locations from the video game Okami, not from the real mythology about Yamata no Orochi.

Inari — The entry states 'About one-third (40,000) of Shinto shrines in Japan are dedicated to Inari,' but one-third of the commonly cited total of 80,000–100,000 shrines would be roughly 27,000–33,000, not 40,000; the fraction and number are inconsistent and misleadi

Amaterasu — The claim that Amaterasu can transform into a smaller wolf form known as 'Poncle' is incorrect; the smaller form is not officially named in the game.

Susanoo — The entry states that Susanoo is 'the direct reincarnation of the legendary warrior Nagi' and later 'the reincarnation of the storm god Susanoo.' In Okami canon, Susanoo is explicitly stated to be the descendant of Nagi, not a reincarnation.

Susanoo — The entry claims Susanoo is 'referred to as a god in the game's lore.' In Okami, Susanoo is consistently portrayed as a mortal human hero, not a god.

Hino Orb — The Hino Orb is not required to unlock the Sunrise technique; Sunrise is obtained from the Sun Gate in Shinshu Field.

Hino Orb — The Hino Orb is a key item used to open the Moon Gate in the Emperor's Palace, not a collectible that grants a Celestial Brush technique.
